You also need to select the style of curtains you want, whether that’s one that threads on a pole (have a look at our eyelet curtains for ideas), or curtains that go on a track with a rod or rings. These are our pleated styles.
How To Measure Custom Made Curtains?
Measure in centimetres, from left to right of the curtain track mounted on your wall. If your curtain track is not yet installed, make a small mark at either end of the window in the spot you want to install it later on. Unless you’re after pinch pleat curtains, the width doesn’t need to be super accurate, so don’t worry too much if this is the case.
If you’re using a track with wrap arounds at the end and a crossover arm in the centre, measure these too.
Next, measure the height, or the ‘drop.’ It’s important that this is accurate. Measure from the top of the track or rod down to the floor, or where you want the curtains to stop. If you’re going for a pooling effect, this will be a couple of centimetres more.
To accurately measure your custom curtains with Quickfit, you should:
- Measure in centimetres, from left to right.
- Measure the width of the track or the width your track will be if you dont have it yet
- Measure wrap arounds and crossover arm if necessary.
- Measure the drop to the floor, as accurately as you can.
How To Order Custom Made Curtains?
Once you’ve made the measurements for your dream curtains, it’s time to let us know, so we can start making them for you.
You will need to measure in cm the width of your track and provide in cm the height from the top of the track down to the spot you want your curtains to finish. We’ll also want to know if the track is mounted to the ceiling. By default, we adjust a few centimetres to the curtain fabric depending on the curtain header style you choose and if you are ceiling or wall mounting the track or rod. For eaxample we add a little for Pinch Pleat wall mount so the curtain adequatly covers the track and for S Fold because the curatin hangs under the track we deduct a little bit.
* If you know the eaxct measurement you would like the curtain when it is finished ie you are replacing old curtains and want the fabric an exact size when sewn you need to let us know as you go through checkout in the order comments box provided. Otherwise we will be making small adjustments so they fit poroperly
We’ll ask you if you want one big curtain that is pulled to one side, or two smaller ones that open and close in the middle. We’ll also want to know if you’re after tiebacks to hold the curtains open at the side of the windows. Generally, this looks better for more traditional styles. We recommend hooks for pleated styles.
