How to Measure your Windows For Sheer Curtains
Here at Quickfit we offer both ready-made and made to measure sheer curtains. Whichever option you choose it’s essential that you properly measure your windows prior to ordering in order to ensure you achieve your desired look. Sheers come in a variety of different heading styles so it’s important to decide upon which heading style and if your chosen heading style requires a rod or track before you begin to measure. Be aware that different heading style and installation methods may require additional length. When measuring how wide your sheer curtains should be, consider how full or voluminous you would like your curtains to be once hung. For a fuller end result, choose a curtain width that is at least double the width of the window it’s going to cover. When measuring for sheer panels keep in mind that both curtains should be wide enough to meet comfortably in the middle when drawn.
Styling Sheer Curtains
Do you love the look and feel of sheer curtains but think your family room requires more privacy than sheers can provide? Although sheers look great on their own, many people choose to layer sheer curtains with thicker curtains or drapes. Layering sheers with a more practical pair of blockout curtains will give you the best of both worlds. Not only will you be able to fill your room with filtered sunlight throughout the day but you’ll also be able to block the light entirely when needed or make the room more private within seconds. When pairing your sheers with a second curtain it’s often recommended that you install your sheers on the inside of the window casing using a curtain track. You can then install a curtain rod in the usual location above your window to hang your thicker curtains. This technique not only looks great but also allows both sets of curtains to function correctly.
